Prince Hat Underground
Prince Hat Underground
This summer, Ad Astra Music Festival presents the world premiere of Prince Hat Underground, a new musical fantasy by Western Kansas writers Catherine Trieschmann and Alex Underwood, based on a short story by Pulitzer Prize finalist Kelly Link.
The story follows Gary and his husband, Prince Hat, whose lives are upended when Prince Hat is abducted by the Queen of Hell, launching a magical journey filled with underground tunnels, talking snakes, and unexpected adventures.
Featuring a cast of professional and local artists, Prince Hat Underground runs June 26–28 at the Russell Elks Lodge. Tickets are $30 and include a drink. As part of Ad Astra’s commitment to developing new works, this world premiere is the festival’s sole production this season.
