For three weekends each July, the Ad Astra Music Festival colors central Kansas with classical music by integrating emerging young artists, community members, and professional musicians. Audiences have come to expect fresh, new music alongside vibrant performances of history's richest musical works of art.

Performances at recent festivals featured choral, chamber, and orchestral musicincluding Mozart Requiem, Handel's Jephtha and Saul, Duruflé Requiem, Bach cantatas, Carissimi oratorios, Schumann song cycles, masses by Byrd and Josquin, and works by Britten, Dvorak, MacMillan, Muhly, and Zelenka.

The 2017 festival is scheduled to run from June 29 to July 29.
